What was once a growing company with a fun, laid back environment has turned into a cheap, stagnant corporation with a toxic work culture. The overwhelmed Brand President has no past experience being a president and it shows. The company is ran on on cynicism and bias. She uses her personally-hired executives to sell a narrative to the rest of the company using selective perception in an attempt to make herself look better and the owners play along because they have no real business experience either. The rest of the workforce see right through their charade but rarely attempt to challenge them out of defeatism or fear, as they will ostracize anyone who isn't a yes-person. The income disparity is immense in this company and the founders (Anna + Nathan Bond) and president twinge at the thought of anyone outside of management making what they're worth no matter how hard middle management and HR may push for it. The Co-Founder/CEO barely functions as such, insisting to opt-out of the majority of his duties, but is happy to take his massive salary that comes with it. The Co-Founder/CCO has proven she won't relinquish power no matter how many creative directors they hire, leading to delayed assets and stifled team creativity. The Bonds have no loyalty and they, along with the new leadership, would rather run the company in to the ground than admit fault of their own. Their COVID-19 response is a great way that shows how unscrupulous the company is. They waited until the last minute to implement a work from home policy even though all of their salaried employees don't need to be in the office, delayed namely due to extreme trust issues. Less than two weeks in, they laid off a large portion of the company and none of them were from the new leadership team. While they did offer severance, they carefully worded their contracts so that the company could still quality for the stimulus money. The remaining employees got a major pay deduction, which turned out to be more than what was allowed so it was later changed to the maximum allowed reduction. These "leaders" are in their own bubble in this diverse world and will only ever change their out-of-touch views and policies if the public forces them to, not because they are proactive contributors.
