Pros

Since the nature of start-up culture requires that all employees wear a lot of hats, you gain tons of experience in a lot of different departments.

Kontras

Management makes a lot of promises that go unfulfilled and lacks professionalism in dealing with internal HR matters. The sales team isn't held to the same standards as the rest of the staff, which leads to extremely low morale among the support staff that goes unaddressed. Growth is prized above all else at the risk of overworking all staff. Beware the lure of the benefits promised - they are limited.

We're sorry you felt so overworked. We have never asked any support staff team members to work extra hours and have done our best to give team members plenty of opportunities to discuss issues with our frequent one-on-ones, while also adding what we feel our valuable perks like Summer Hours, parking spots/parking stipends and team events. We would have loved to have had any HR issues brought to our attention so we could have found a solution. Going forward, we will continue to try and improve our intern program. Thank you!

Pros

The people are fantastic to work with! Everyone was friendly and very easy to talk to. Dom, Mitch, & Jeremy are very approachable people. There was a large, open work space, with lots of places to sit and different things to do. We always had snacks and beverages available. Vacation time was very flexible - basically, take it when you need it. Weekly pay days were great! The growth potential in this company is great. If you're interested in something, it's easy to transition into it.

For a small company, it was hard to keep the work/life balance, because it was so easy to be friends with my coworkers. Management wasn't really "management," just other colleagues - this didn't really work for me, but some may thrive in this type of work environment. The pay was SO LOW; if you didn't make any commission you wouldn't be able to live on your salary. No flexibility with work hours. If you didn't work past the normal 8-5, you weren't considered "serious" about your job. No availability to work from home, even though the entire business is accessible via a computer/internet.
