Pros

Rapidly growing firm, lots of new hires High impact work Willingness to assist and help peers grow & succeed Tight-knit culture

Kontras

Long hours With the tight knit culture - somewhat tribalistic nature. Some staff are definitely not part of the "in" group My road or the high road mentality with work methods & staff More limited exit opportunities & comp than traditional management consulting Inconsistent feedback with performance

Pros

Incredible exposure to the aerospace & defense (and government contracting writ large) industry. The firm is also highly regarded by our clients and their peers. Junior team members are expected to own their work product and are encouraged to present findings and breif executives during meetings. The workplace atmosphere is very collaborative and positive, generally leaning younger.

Kontras

General consulting workload may be a con for some people (~50hrs per week on average). Timelines for each project (often 1-3 months) are entirely client & project manager dependent, meaning that the workload and cadence of deliverables is often unclear until you are staffed. Additionally, because analysts "own their work product", there may be tight-turn iteration to meet project manager standards.

Pros

They have a culture of high performance, and have brought in some top tier partners / managers to run their A&D work. They have proprietary databases and models to help them excel in the space, and output high quality work.

Kontras

It is a very tight knit group to the point in which it can almost become "clicky". There's a mindset of "you should want to work here and not look anywhere else" which I think is unrealistic - particularly for intern level analysts. You'll also be looked at differently for not being "ride or die" for the firm - which has its pros and cons depending on how much you're committed to the A&D space.
