I joined RelayDirect after seeing a job advertised on LinkedIn as a Trainee Manager position. There was absolutely no mention of door to door sales, commission only pay or self employed status anywhere in the job description. The reality only became clear after I had already started. This was my first warning that everything about this company is deliberately designed to mislead. Every single day began with a mandatory two hour standing motivation session aka brainwashing session called Atmosphere. You are not allowed to sit in the morning session. After lunch break at 3pm there were no bathroom breaks permitted regardless of how long you had been working. We were expected to cover all our own travel expenses and food costs, and were even charged £5 per week to use a notepad the company provided. They essentially charged us to work for them. If you showed any tiredness, negativity or doubt during these sessions you were publicly called out in front of everyone. The energy had to be relentless and artificial every single morning before the working day had even begun. Field work ran from 12pm to 8pm — eight hours of knocking doors with a 95% rejection rate daily. The work is entirely commission based despite being told in writing before starting that a guaranteed minimum of £400 per week would be provided during the training phase. I worked 72 hours in my first week and received only £190. There is no minimum wage protection. No sick pay. No holiday pay. No rights whatsoever. Then there are the business trips. These are sold to you as exciting rewards and career opportunities that only the most committed and hungry people get to attend. Everyone in the office competes eagerly to go. The reality is that you travel to a completely different city, knock doors for 12 or more hours a day for seven days straight — Sunday to Sunday — completely isolated from your family and support network, and cover every single penny of your own travel and accommodation costs yourself. You are essentially paying the company for the privilege of working harder for them in a different location while they profit from every sale you make. The biggest manipulation of all is the promotion promise. From day one you are told that promotion is just around the corner. Work harder, hit your targets, show enough hunger and you will move from Phase 1 to Phase 5 — from field sales all the way to ownership level. This promise is dangled in front of you every single morning during Atmosphere. Every motivational speech, every clapping session, every chant is designed to make you believe that if you just push a little harder, sacrifice a little more, endure a little longer — your big break is coming. The reality is that promotion is used purely as a psychological tool to keep you working in exhausting conditions without complaining. Most people never get promoted regardless of how hard they work. Those who do get promoted simply work even longer hours managing others while the owner at the top collects the real money. The phase system exists for one reason only — to stop you from quitting by making you feel like leaving means giving up on your own success. It is one of the most effective and cruel manipulation tactics I have ever witnessed. On top of everything you are classified as self employed meaning you have zero employment rights in the UK. No minimum wage. No sick pay. No holiday pay. No rights whatsoever. You can be let go instantly with nothing. By keeping workers self employed under RelayDirect rather than directly under Credico, the company ensures that Credico cannot be held legally responsible for any of these inhumane conditions. It is a deliberately designed legal shield. And when the bad reviews inevitably accumulate and the reputation becomes known — they simply rebrand under a completely new company name and start again with a clean slate. Same people. Same system. Same conditions. Different name. If you are considering applying to any company promising fast management progression, unlimited earning potential and high energy environment — please research the words Credico and DevilCorp thoroughly before attending any interview. What is advertised and what you actually experience are two completely different things.

They lied about EVERYTHING. They reached out to me first about the role and made it seem like we would be working more on the advertisement face to face and the marketing concepts when in reality it was simply door to door sales. The minimum salary is dependent on how many sales you make and they pressure you into thinking the sales are dependent on your performance when in reality we are pressured to keep talking to people at their house even if they visibly aren't interested. They had hidden the number of hours due to the fact it is typically ~10am to 8pm with only one hour lunch break in between and the rest usually continuous walking. People are even "encouraged" to work on Saturdays alongside the already established 5 days. And you have to pay for your own Uber/travel to the "field" (neighbourhood where you do door to door). The progression is also completely different to what they had initially made it seem, while it is dependent on performance it isn't dependent on self performance but rather making sure at least multiple people are trained to your level in order for you to progress in your career. If you have any questions they tend to move around it by asking more questions, talking about something completely different or making it seem like you weren't paying attention. They used this same tactic to avoid mentioning the hours since working 9+ hours on your feet continuously harassing people at their homes is ridiculous and no one wants someone knocking on their door 3x a day and what the job actually entailed by emphasising it was face to face but hiding the fact it was by knocking doors, they would constantly mention business to business interactions and events but these were rare and not until you reached roughly stage 3. Overall the role seems extremely exploitative of young people especially those that have had to move countries or areas for roles such as these and are unable to back out. Walking continuously for 9+ hours a day just to make an average 5 sales in a day should be investigated. Lunch is also only whatever shops are within the area and bathroom is also just dependent on whatever is in the area which isn't pleasant when you're walking on your feet for continuous hours. The one who took me around while she was lovely she kept assuming customers ethnicities and gender, kept talking to random people on the street when they simply wanted to mind their own business, when people insisted they were busy she would stand close to the door and just Still enforce the pitch regardless if it's clear the customer had expressed they are not interested and these are the "skills" they encourage you to use. If we finish early we are encouraged to simply find more doors to knock on whether we were initially told to knock there or not until it is 8pm. Sometimes shifts can start as early as 9am and end at 8pm which leaves no time for anything else and this is usually for 5 days min with small variances. TLDR: Overall NEVER WORK for these people. They don't teach anything, it is a waste of time, exploitative and simply just door to door sales.
