I was laid off when the company merged and had a successful exit. I went in the next day after my last because I was asked to hand off some things and tie up loose ends. As I was leaving I saw the new owner riding up and down the hallway on an adult tricycle, like a giant toddler. After he just laid off a bunch of employees. I felt awful and unwelcome. I was asked to work freelance and I declined. Many people were traumatized after the company merged.
