I feel Reach employ the minimal amount of staff and don't spend enough time and money recruiting more, despite the existing staff struggling to keep up with unrealistic targets and deadlines due to high volumes of work. This is reflected by staff often working through lunch breaks, coming in early, and taking laptops home just to keep their heads above water with completing their work - all unpaid over time. There is a micro management style in place from one of the owners and this is oppressive and extremely difficult to deal with. It makes you feel that there is no trust. No one really sticks to their role because everyone is expected to wear multiple hats - there is a 'fire fighting' approach when it comes to dealing with high work volumes across departments. I feel Reach drive the front end of the business as a priority, finding and converting leads, rather than ensuring they have enough staff on board to support their existing/new clients. Reach seem to want clients to believe they are a big company with huge teams of people, this simply isn't true. The truth is, they do have a fantastic hard working team of people who are very committed. So much so, that they all work themselves into the ground, it feels, just to deliver on the many promises that are made from above to clients on a regular basis. The staff are an amazing bunch of people but they deserve to be treated much better. By not employing more people on the ground, Reach are giving the impression that they are quite happy for the team to continue to struggle with work volumes, disrupting their work/life balance, if it means they can save on staff costs and still make a profit. Meanwhile they have had two staff members leave already this year.
