Pros

There is good upward mobility and promotions.

Kontras

The culture is dying. Management doesn’t listen to the employees wants or needs. The president promotes a healthy work life balance yet I have not seen an ounce of that in the entire eight years I’ve worked here. If you bring up problems to management you will not be heard and instead you will be told to just leave if you feel that way because you are replaceable. All they care about is their bottom line. They put raises on hold for staff that have earned raises throughout the year. I could go on.

Pros

The new office was nice, and the leadership team truly seemed supportive and appreciative of the interns. We had lunch and weekly meetings with the president and other senior leaders, which made it clear they cared about our growth. There was also plenty of workplace training, including support that helped me earn my CargoWise certification.

Kontras

While I had interesting, useful, and hands-on projects to do sometimes, there would be days, sometimes multiple in a row where I had little work to do, and it would be very boring busywork. Also, pay for interns was only $17 an hour and we only came in 20 hours a week.
