As much as I loved the challenge and experience gained from my time at REEF, I ultimately decided to leave because the organization did not align with my personal values. If you accept a job here be prepared to sacrifice work life balance. You will receive pings on Teams at all hours of the night, frequent “emergency” calls on Sunday nights, and your colleagues being celebrated for working unhealthy hours + giving up important family commitments to “get the job done.”
The REEF kitchens leak water, often operate without proper permitting, and overall poorly managed. The frontline employees working in the kitchens have to deal with the consequences of the safety problems. It is a major liability.
REEF is not an organization that cares about its staff. You will be treated like an inadequate, replaceable resource.
