I worked there in the mid-80's and got some laughs from all the negative reviews because they still haven't changed. - Inside/Outside Representative bei R.S. Hughes Co., Inc.: Mitarbeiterbewertung

Pros

If you are fresh out of college with no solid prospects, "cut your teeth" there to learn all the things reviewers said. Work there 1-2 years and take a better job as soon as you can. The experience of working with vendor reps is good experience for your future. Many companies out there know about them and will hire you knowing why you didn't last long.

Kontras

When I was there in Sunnyvale CA office around '86 to '89, they didn't even have computers! Every other distributor like them did. Paper inventory books for entering purchases and sales was a joke. It led to so many mistakes that they would have been to buy an entire network for their staff on the realized savings. They seem to "churn" fresh out of college males, work them till they're pissed, then get another when they leave. They don't have to layoff.

Pros

Majority of leadership and employees care deeply about each other and doing the right thing by customers.

Kontras

Many people have been with the company 20-30years - while great, gaining their buy-in for needed change is difficult and slow.

Pros

The company values that corporate has put down on paper look/sound nice.

Kontras

-Struggling financially -Benefits were drastically cut down over last 3 years in attempt to slow bleeding -No 401k matching, and ESOP share value in decline -Little to no accountability/oversight on senior management, and a high concentration of dishonest/morally bankrupt individuals within senior management -little to no room for advancement -Spiraling, as the employees that made this company great have either left or been pushed out. Coupled with a huge reliance on tribal knowledge, the majority of employees are now new, leading to increasing customer confusion/dissatisfaction due to the noticeable drop in service/quality. -Pay is not competitive -Frequently losing/settling lawsuits due to the way HR/management treats employees -Many locations closed/closing
