Pros
Speaking for the Provo, UT office, the pay outclasses most other companies in the area. The team that I am on, the teams I work with, and all managers that I have personally met respects and values employees. I have never felt a need to prove myself or defend myself because others don't believe in my abilities. In my experience, the mindset here is simply "let's get it done, and let's get it done well". Additionally, those I have worked with value work-life balance. We are encouraged to take breaks during the day, to take personal time out of the year, and to not work outside of business hours whenever possible. This has also been a great opportunity for me to hone and develop skills to further my career. I have many great senior developers to work with and learn from. Additionally, Qualtrics invests quite a bit in training developers. We are encouraged to take time out a the week simply to develop our skills. We also receive a quarterly budget of $50 to spend on learning materials.
Kontras
Here's a couple things that are probably on every Qualtrics employee's mind: 1. Return to office was a huge trust-buster. Qualtrics publishes articles that explaining that companies can see benefits across many parts of their business by adopting a flexible work model that includes working from home. And yet, top executives here still want employees to come in to the office 4 days a week. It's better than fully in-office, for sure, but in my opinion, is not flexible enough to gain the benefits of a hybrid work model. 2. Changing ownership. Qualtrics has gone through many changes in ownership through the years, and with each changes comes a level of uncertainty. Most recently, we have been acquired by a private equity firm, forcing us to sell any equity we have in the company. Who knows what the future holds?
