Pros

I've had an excellent experience at Quadriga Partners. The work is interesting and junior bankers are given a tremendous amount of responsibility from the start. Within the first few months of joining the firm I was directly interfacing with clients and leading deal-related projects. Expectations are high, but the other junior bankers and senior bankers are always willing to help you out when you get stuck. The culture is second to none and is what makes the long nights/weeks/months fly by. The compensation structure is very attractive / above-market. Wouldn't want to do IB anywhere else.

Kontras

If you know what you're getting yourself into (e.g., relentless hours, working weekends, frequent travel) then there aren't any.

Pros

I've worked at Quadriga for the majority of my career and have grown exponentially as a banker as a result of the highly active, entrepreneurial environment. Pros of working at Quadriga: * A lot of deal flow. The firm is highly active across the healthcare continuum. * Variety of deal types keeps things interesting. M&A is fun, but the firm does more than sell-side M&A. Debt deals and unique equity deals are also on the menu. * Work with deeply experienced senior bankers who know the healthcare industry exceptionally well. * Take on as much responsibility as you prove yourself capable of. There is neither a rigid hierarchy nor long ladder to climb to the top. Accelerate your career trajectory as fast as you're able. You are your only regulator on your own growth. * Significant upside potential. When you work on a small banking team, the upside is enormous. The difference of one extra closed deal per year is meaningful. * Arguably most importantly: Quadriga advises clients to pursue what's in their best long-term economic interests, which is not always the deal that yields the highest purchase price or cash at close. The firm takes a true partnership mentality with each client and is focused on long-term relationships, not just closing transactions. * The firm encourages collaboration across the organization. Junior bankers are solicited for their input as frequently as mid-level or senior bankers. * Fun place to work generally, even on most late nights and long weekends, although those nights and weekends do come with their fair share of stress as you would imagine (see Cons below). * Entrepreneurial environment. This could be a pro or a con depending on your background and your perspective. If you enjoy the challenge of building something lasting and memorable and are willing to roll-up your sleeves, this could be an excellent fit for you.

Kontras

* Investment banking generally is notorious for its long, grueling hours, so be aware of what you're getting yourself into when looking to make the jump into banking. Quadriga is no different. Compared to other Denver-based investment banks, bankers at Quadriga regularly work longer and more unpredictable hours. Compared to much larger, bulge bracket banks, the long nights and weeks at Quadriga are no different (same hours, same stress levels), but 1) everyone's work at Quadriga is valued, 2) everyone is respected, and 3) Quadrigans can catch a break when the deadline has passed and the materials are out the door to the client.
