Pros

- Pay. - Benefits (couldn't be better, too long to list). - PTO is great. - Hybrid work. - Management embodies their values - it all flows from the top down. - Management is knowledgeable, helpful, and considerate. - Speaking up is encouraged. - Workload (management is great at delegation and deadlines). - Training (from onboarding to current, they constantly are evolving their material). - Overtime pay (not time and a half, but better than nothing. Considering most salary positions don’t offer this, this is a major pro!). - Clear career growth trajectory, paths, and skills needed in order to get promotions. There isn't a single path for you to take; it's up to you, which is a real empowering feeling. - Open to ideas and suggestions within your team, and within the company as a whole. - Many different teams/clubs to join. On learning: I want to emphasize the importance of learning at Pure Power. If you're an engineer of any discipline, with any amount of experience, with a hunger for knowledge and interest in solar/storage, then apply here! I couldn't imagine learning about PV, Power Engineering, Energy Storage, the NEC, and so on, anywhere else. It's truly a place where they encourage your career growth. They encourage you to obtain certifications, help you get them, and will even compensate you for them. On day-to-day: I came here expecting chaos like every other company. I was initially thrown off by their structured approach to business. It seemed like they had everything figured out! No business is perfect though; there is still a lot of work to be done and many things that can optimize this company even further. If you join Pure Power, you will be given opportunities to contribute using your own skills and experience. In my mind, nothing is worse than a company that is stuck in its ways with red tape everywhere. Pure Power is the opposite; more like an engineer's playground where you're encouraged to learn, work, come up with great ideas, and have fun while doing it. With the solar/storage industry constantly evolving, expect new things every day and lots of opportunities.

Kontras

If you thrive in chaos, you might have an adjustment period - Tons of work to do, it's just less hectic and more organized.

Pros

Culture is professional, with frequent collaboration, flex Fridays, dogs in the office, and fun optional activities such as Office Olympics and bowling. Pure Power upholds a high level of psychological safety: PMs and experienced engineers are happy to answer questions, and they spend time each week learning from each other and striving for constant improvement.

Kontras

Communication between teams could be improved to more evenly distribute workload.

Pros

Great place for new engineers to learn. Benefits are paid at 100% for employees.

Kontras

Interview process is too long. Claims of feeling psychologically safe being the priority is not true. Environment has become very toxic if you don't fall in line or disagree with the management team. If you want to make it here, it's better to keep your head down and agree with everything you are told. NEVER speak up if you have a concern about processes and procedures. Your feedback doesn't matter to those in a position of authority. This will put a target on your back. Work life balance doesn't exist. Very chaotic!

We appreciate the feedback. Psychological safety is a core focus for us, and we hold ourselves to a high bar. It’s disappointing to hear this wasn’t your experience, as that’s the standard we expect to consistently deliver. As noted, we do receive a significant amount of feedback, but the gap can be how decisions and timing are communicated. When that isn’t clear, it can feel like input is ignored. That’s an area we take seriously and are working to improve.
