Pros

Company is great. Pay is decent too - in NOC you get base salary + overtime paid + shift differential. Many benefits including dental, medical, discount, quarterly wellbeing day off which is much appreciated. Plenty of PTO, especially in the NOC. you also get free access to Udemy courses to expand your skills and knowledge. Working from home allowed for NOC.

Kontras

As mentioned above, Proofpoint is an amazing company, but the NOC department is awful for mental health. Long days with 12hr shifts. The role itself is advertised as technical, but it is not, it is an admin type role - they took away lots of technologies and everything is automated. The role consists in copy pasting templates and chatting to people on Zoom channels with minimal troubleshooting. US managers are rude and condescending to Belfast NOC employees, often exhibiting discriminatory behavior especially towards employees from different countries.

Pros

There are a handful of genuinely good people throughout the company - not within leadership.

Kontras

Employees are expected to do more with less- leading to long hours and unsustainable workload. Work-life balance is talked about but not consistently demonstrated by leadership. The culture felt performance-driven at the expense of people. I often felt that employees were valued more for their output than as individuals. Speaking up, challenging decisions, or offering a different perspective did not feel psychologically safe. The CEO’s town hall messaging reinforces this culture. Statements such as “ If you don’t like it here, you can leave” and that employees who don’t learn Ai will be come “obsolete” came across as lacking empathy. Trust in leadership was low from my perspective.
