Pros

- Great team and staff environment

Kontras

- Toxic management - Poor leadership decisions - High turnover - Staff are overworked and under-appreciated - No room for growth unless leadership "likes" you - Unsafe working conditions and constant rejection to requests for improved work supplies and equipment - Frequent grievances from BIPOC staff about lack of diversity and inclusion that is unaddressed by leadership - They hire program directors and managers who are unqualified and inexperienced in their role, leading to decisions that are unsuited and detrimental for client care and staff wellbeing. Upper leadership was defensive and dismissive when I approached them about serious issues that were a direct result of poor management decisions. They simply pointed out that it sounds like I had reached my limit and a pursuit of a different opportunity would be more suited. The most recent Program Manager that was brought on to oversee the operations and needs of an entire interim housing program was hired without the appropriate qualifications and experience. This led to massive turnover in the program with all 4 therapists ultimately quitting due to the hostile environment that was created by the aforementioned Program Supervisor. Meanwhile, the Program Director of a clinical program is an MBA who approaches the program like a business of numbers and figures rather than a person-centered human services agency that helps people and their families. The agency as a whole operates much like a business and constantly aims to make budget cuts by restructuring programs and positions. Though the team on the ground floor were amazing to work with, we collectively suffered under poor management decision after poor management decision.
