Lots of training and opportunity, advancement at times laterally to gain experience or if willing to move around some maybe even out of area and come back with new perspective, many people to learn from. Responsive administration and management on most every issue. Ahead of the curve with library practices and timely on social change.

City organization makes wheels of change grind to a near stop at times or it seems so. Very slow on hiring, Not competitive with other departments on salaries. Long hours including weekend and evenings and irregular schedules. Dealing with public though usually good can sometimes become a threat.
