Pros

• Fantastic and intelligent coworkers who enjoy spending time together even outside of work. The people are hands-down the best part of Grand River. • Collaboration is encouraged and everyone is open to sharing ideas and learning from one another. • We have flexible schedules that allow for the realities of life (6 inches of ice and snow? Everyone work from home!). • Upper management shares details with us about the decisions they're making and about the company's future on a regular basis. • HR has instituted great on-boarding and review processes in the past year. • Management encourages and supports professional growth outside of work. • Bagel Fridays.

Kontras

As a fairly young company, we are still learning how best to do some things. Going with the flow is important here as processes continue to shift and grow. We also tend to work with mid-level clients that don't have huge budgets. You have to learn to work within constraints and make the best with limited resources.

Some of the most professional people I have ever worked with.

Kontras

There is no formal path to career advancement. It's very subjective and depends on your reporting manager to advocate heavily for you. Unfortunately, this means that getting head usually requires finding a new role.

Pros

Very little outside of some of the people you work with. FTO is only nice if you have a manager who lets you use it. They did allow work from home, not sure if that is still the case.

Kontras

This company was run poorly by Tom Hogan before private equity bought it but the buyout accelerated their decline. If you want to be a cog in the machine, this is the place for you. The leadership is only focused on themselves. They will praise you or throw you under the bus depending on how they feel it makes them look to their bosses. The employees who don’t have a stable long term project live in fear of being let go irregardless of talent and many of their most talented are leaving because they see the writing on the wall.
