Pros
There are a lot of opportunities for growth since the company is growing so quickly and you can move up quickly even if you aren't very tenured - they are based on performance, not length of service. There is a very good culture at a company level but also at a department and team level. There's a lot of effort from leadership to make it a positive and enjoyable workplace. All of the leaders that I have had at Paycom have been very involved in my development. There are regular check ins so I always have a clear understanding of how I am doing and what I can be improving on. The conversations aren't one-sided either so it provides me regular opportunities to provide feedback when I have it. The benefit package is very good - employee only health insurance is only $1/pay period and there is a full offering of all benefit types that are very affordable. Pet insurance is even available! I also have to praise our CEO for how he has responded to the COVID situation. Changes were made in the offices for weeks to help keep our employees healthy and as soon as it was needed we made the switch to working from home. This is keeping us safe & allowing us to provide the same level of service to our clients during a tough time.
Kontras
The company is growing very quickly so there are growing pains that come with that. You have to be ready to adapt very quickly. Depending on the department you are in, the workload can be heavy at times. Particularly during December & January which can be a busy personal time. However in my department, it's definitely manageable and there are improvements made constantly to ensure work-life balance. The work is challenging and Paycom has high standards which I don't consider to be a con at all, but because of this it is important to find a position that is a good match for you. The hiring team wants to find a good fit for you so be honest about what you're looking for, don't just say what you think they want to hear.
