I’ve been a recruiter at PDS Tech for a while, and honestly, it’s exhausting. The pressure from upper management to fill roles is relentless—they don’t care if the candidate’s a good fit, just that the seat’s warm. Quotas are sky-high, and there’s no real support to hit them. The internal systems are a nightmare; half the time, the database is outdated, and I’m stuck chasing ghosts because no one bothers to keep it current. Communication from leadership is nonexistent unless they’re breathing down your neck about numbers. The turnover here is insane—both with recruiters and the candidates we place—which makes my job harder because I’m constantly starting from scratch. Management acts like we’re miracle workers, but they won’t invest in proper tools or training to make the process smoother. I’ve seen good people burn out fast because the environment is so chaotic and thankless. It’s frustrating to feel like I’m set up to fail, especially when I want to do right by the candidates and clients. There are all these non-recruiter support executives, but nothing improves for us on the ground—it’s like they’re just collecting paychecks and looking busy while we’re stuck with clunky software and no budget for basic resources. It’s maddening to see money wasted on stuff that doesn’t help us do our jobs when we’re already in the red.
