Pros
Most of the staff were nice and welcoming.
Kontras
I was brought in to NetApp on what was described as "a 2 month temporary role at reception with the chance of it becoming permanent". This was dependent on the old receptionist accepting her new role or not. The moment I entered the building, the receptionist was extremely standoffish. She was supposed to be training me but she would often leave me at the desk whilst she went off on her phone or to speak with people who were on their break. I was constantly being spoken down to by her the whole time I was there, and in my second week, she was already talking about coming back to the reception as she was messaging people about it at the desk right in front of me. However, any time I would try to speak to her about this she would storm off in a temper. I was then told this was a misunderstanding and that she "was just having a bad day", but the way she spoke to me never changed. She then tried to make me apply for other jobs whilst I was at the desk, including jobs that required French and Spanish speaking roles (neither of which I can speak). She would also try to force me to speak in Spanish to communicate with the cleaners, even though these cleaners live in Ireland and refuse to speak English. The reality is this role was never going to become permanent and she just wanted someone to talk down to and bully. Such a shame as I really relished the opportunity but one stubborn worker never wanted me to be there.
