Pros

NetApp does have a good culture, good work-life balance. The people are very nice and work well as a team. Great benefits and competitive salaries.

Kontras

The company struggles from poor management at the CEO and Executive level. Year after year, the company would re-org or have layoffs hoping these measures would fix problems, but this strategy only disrupts any synergy or momentum they had. NetApp refuses to bring in talent from successful companies and continues to promote candidates from within who have little to no experience for the job. Money is wasted on embarrassing campaigns like "Yep, NetApp". Rather than highlighting product features and taking on competitors with a strong message, Execs will dream up campaign phrases like "Data Fabric" which nobody can relate to (other than NetApp employees). Unfortunately at this point, NetApp looks to be a sinking ship, selling off land and deep cuts in recent layoffs. Attrition rate is very high as many would rather escape the insanity than wait for a severance package.

Pros

Amongst the top companies in the data storage industry = company stability.

Kontras

If you'd ask me a year or 2 ago, I would have given the company 5 stars. But, as with most tech companies now, they've started to follow the trend of return to office, regardless of logic. There's little to no room for exceptions and the company would rather sacrifice productivity regardless if they know the hardships for people living in metros (one way commute to the NY or SJC office can take 2 hours one way!) - that and there's no commuter benefits. You have to pay out of pocket and live in fear of not receiving your bonus if you miss the "thrive together" quarterly requirements.
