Working with clients. Making a difference in peoples lives. The salary was fair. The deputy director tried to promote morale. She made herself accessible; however she was the only one who made the effort.
Kontras
Supervisors did not promote morale. There was a lot of gossip around the office. Supervisors felt threatened by subordinates. Generally workers could not trust supervisors, as supervisors would gossip about their supervisees. There was division among departments and units. The hours were long and we did not receive overtime for extra time worked. We earned comp-time, which we were forced to take at the Supervisors discretion.
