Pros

I've been working at Meridian for close to two years now. They are a fair and honest employer. What you see is what you get. If you follow the employee rules and do your job, the company pays you fairly and works to provide a comfortable and safe workspace. I work with the Portland office directly. I've met a recruiter, the HR director, and the head of the Portland branch. All three have been unusually transparent and direct with me. At Meridian, you get what you put into the job.

Kontras

Some employees prefer constant hand-holding. Meridian is not like that. Sure, they will call you once or twice a month to check in on you, but they also expect you to ask questions if you need help and to follow procedures. This is a better company for those who prefer macro management styles.

Very supportive and always goes the extra mile to help you achieve success in your job search. Shannon Hanson is a fantastic recruiter and I was lucky enough to find her as my recruiter.

Pros

I liked that I was treated like a professional. I was allowed to do my job and was rewarded to do so. I had a great base salary and commission plan, benefits, a very nice office. I liked the environment and most of the people were great. I was able to grow and It really paid off for me ! I had to work hard to make hires - but that's the challenge of recruiting. Anyone that thinks recruiting is a piece of cake is fooling themselves.

I like working with professionals. At one point, some new recruiters were hired and they spent more time gossiping and stirring up trouble than recruiting. They wanted to be pampered... like spoiled children. This drove me crazy because I just wanted to do my job and they almost brought me down with them. Unfortunately at that time, management was just a little too busy to notice that these recruiters were trouble...but the problem got fixed.
