Pros

Fair pay. Decent benefits that are slowly corroding. They have 5 companies in one, so you can internally transfer around to do something differently. They have a good rotation program going that anyone can be involved in where you get to do a new job and network with employees across the country and the globe.

Kontras

Constantly restructuring where it's unstable to hold a job longer than 12 months comfortably. People are snarky to save their own skins rather than team oriented to salvage camaraderie. Lay offs every 9 months as they "plan" for the future and then hire cheaper labor to do the job of 2 people who were paid decently for fair work. Dismal outlook.

Mercer colleague, Thanks for your thoughts – both on what is working for you at Mercer and where we need to improve. We are very proud of our rotational programs, as it is one of many opportunities for colleagues to explore different career paths , connect with each other and grow. The pace of change is faster than ever before so, like in many other companies, we strive to provide both stability for all of our colleagues while adapting to an environment that is ever-evolving, innovative and focused on the future of work and that involves a lot of changes. Please feel free to email us at ColleagueFeedback@Mercer.com if you would like to speak directly about your experiences and where we can improve.

Pros

-Trustworthy immediate colleagues -Good work/life balance and flexibility

Kontras

-Little career pathing within company. Organization is extremely siloed, and cheap as they simply aren't interested in paying for small things to advance one's career like local industry conferences and events such as team holiday dinners that would have minimal impact on the company's bottom line. -Pay not aligned with skills or talent marketplace -One would think a benefits/career consultant would have decent pay and benefits. This is not the case
