Very poor communication and last minute changes to the teaching schedule. Low pay: Expect $20-25 per hour. Job responsibilities subject to change at random: I was offered a position to tutor very specific classes. Once hired, I was immediately slotted to tutor subjects I was not qualified for and were not discussed during my hiring process. Tutors are paid for 15 minutes of lesson prep (at minimum wage, not at the tutor's normal hourly rate; these literal dollars are described as a "gift" from the company). Any further prep time is unpaid and on you. Tutors therefore have no incentive to plan lessons carefully or familiarize themselves deeply with the curriculum and subject matter, and are instead financially encouraged to make slapdash lesson plans last minute and just kind of wing it with the students.
