Pros

Employees truly do come first at MTSI. The executive leadership was great to work for, friendly, and encouraged growth. The benefits were great, merit increases and bonuses average, 100% ESOP, and a good location. In my opinion, they care about the defense of this country and the community. Their charitable contributions cannot be topped by any other company and employees. I hated leaving…

Con 1: My leaving was a classic example of “you don’t quit companies, you quit managers.” My manager was flat out a jerk. This person did not care about the staff, treated everyone like children and not like professionals, and did not want to hear your opinion. The department was run like a dictatorship. It was 100% “my way or the highway.” The proof is a nearly 85% turnover in the department in the 18 months since the manager started. Only one employee hired by the previous director remains. There are two others that remained: one promoted from within (see above), and the other an executive hire (see below). If not for this manager, I could have retired with MTSI. Con 2: Former hires by an executive. A former executive brought in all former colleagues to run the various departments: Finance, Accounting, HR, and Contracts. All the departments are a complete mess with four of the five hires still there. Until they clean house and bring in fresh blood, stay away from the indirect positions.

Regarding the CONS, we are disappointed to hear about this experience and will factor it into training for continued improvement. We are proud of our company culture and employee experience that has been established since the company was first founded.
