Pros

Cool clientele, that’s about it

Kontras

No training- they throw you into the fire. I came from another distributor and was told my experience would be irrelevant at MRL because they have their own way of doing things. I was very excited to learn about those ways. Within my first few days they were throwing tons of projects my way, and I couldn’t close a single one because of the lack of training. It was frowned upon to call and ask questions , and not only that, everyone was way too busy to help you so they wouldn’t answer anyway. Micromanagement- The CEO would micromanage down to the point of criticizing “hey” vs “hi “ in an email. All sales people are different and shouldn’t have to communicate exactly the same with clients. Every single email I sent had to be checked over and ripped apart, so I was failing on many of these time constrained projects. Degrading management - the emails I received in my short tenure were degrading and rude. I didn’t feel respected for a single moment. It was a very negative environment. I actually was so unhappy I quit without anything else lined up because I was THAT unhappy. Don’t put yourself in my position. Lack of work life balance- they are in a great industry with great clients , so there’s no shortage of business. Hope you like having about 600 open projects in a day and if you don’t close them you’ll be reprimanded. I would work about 9-10 hour days and after I got off I would constantly worry about everything that I couldn’t get to. It directly impacted my personal life and happiness. Turnover- high turnover . I’m sure the above mentioned issues are probably why

Thank you for sharing your experience. We genuinely appreciate your feedback, as it helps us identify areas where we can improve our processes and ensure that our team members have the best experience possible. Regarding training, we take our onboarding process very seriously and ensure all new employees go through a comprehensive 6-week training period before working on client-facing projects. This training is designed to teach our team members our specific ways of working and ensure they are fully equipped to succeed in their roles. We understand that transitioning from a different distributor can make it challenging to adapt to new systems and processes, and we appreciate your willingness to learn our way of working. We will continue to refine and enhance our training program to ensure that it provides the necessary support and guidance for all new hires. As for the comment on micromanagement, we do place a high value on communication and collaboration across teams. Feedback and oversight are crucial in maintaining quality, and we try to balance that with trust in our employee's autonomy. We also recognize that some roles require more oversight than others in order to uphold the quality and experience for our clients. It's important to us that employees feel empowered and not micromanaged, and we are committed to fostering an environment where feedback can be given constructively and is taken seriously. Regarding work-life balance, we understand that it can be challenging to manage a heavy workload while maintaining personal well-being. We are committed to ensuring that our employees can disconnect from work and strike a healthy balance between their professional and personal lives. We do not expect employees to make their job their entire life, but we do encourage dedication and commitment to achieving success. If you felt that the workload was impacting your ability to maintain a healthy work-life balance, we sincerely apologize and encourage open communication with management to explore solutions for improvement. Regarding turnover, we want to clarify that while turnover can be a natural part of any growing and scaling company, it is important to note that “high turnover” is not an accurate representation of our workforce. Many of our employees have been with us for several years, and we believe that the fast-paced environment is not for everyone. We do recognize that working in a fast-moving industry can be demanding, and we strive to provide the necessary support for our teams to thrive. We also see that your tenure with us was under one year, and we sincerely regret that your experience was not aligned with your expectations. We are continuously working to improve our processes, and we appreciate the time you spent with us. Thank you again for your input. We take your feedback seriously and are committed to fostering an environment where our employees feel empowered, supported, and respected. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.

The team at MRL works quickly which allows the Sales team to prospect and be successful at bringing in more sales opportunities. Pros

Remote work and annual company trips

Kontras

This company overworks its employees and has unrealistic expectations. The workload doesn’t match the time given to resolve issues, and even managers seem unable to handle it. This company is very disorganized, constantly changing and implementing new rules almost every week! The micromanagement is excessive—managers still hop into emails or ask to be CC’d even after 1–2 years. No one speaks up because management sees feedback as complaining, and the team doesn’t work together to speak up on work issues. The job offers flexibility, but that’s about it. To be favored here, you basically have to make this job your entire life and personality. This might be my most frustrating job, but people overlook the downsides because it’s remote. There are better options out there—keep searching.
