There are a lot here. Management is inexperienced at all levels, in all departments. They don't know how to handle difficult conversations, and there is no one there to train them on how to do so. So critical feedback is avoided until things get so bad that employees get terminated- instead of being given consistent feedback, managers just suddenly tell them it's not working out. This is not a personal experience, it is what I saw happen to many, even at very senior levels. There is no career progression whatsoever. Random jobs are created if you're on the right person's good side, and titles changed to make people feel better about themselves. Others stay in the same position at the same pay with WAY more responsibilities and get no explanation for why. Leaving moo and going to a more established company really highlighted how unbelievably inappropriate some of the things that go on really are. Inappropriate workplace relationships (including manager-employee), behavior at company Christmas parties is completely out of control (violent outbursts, crying, falling down drunk, etc.). Even basic interactions in the office and the things people say in casual conversation in the cafeteria (highly sexual, swearing, etc.) would never be tolerated in a place with an actual harassment policy. No tuition reimbursement, no gym/fitness reimbursement, no work from home options in most departments.
