Work driven by need, interesting problems to work on, and a sense that you can accomplish things (at least on a small scale). Not driven by the need to make a profit, so beholden only to our clients.
Kontras
Pay is relatively low due to the non-profit nature of the work. The upper management is pretty stagnant, there is no way to get to the top based on only merit, you have to be there for 20 or 25 years to become senior management. Often tell the clients what they want to hear, so as not to piss them off and loose a client.
