Pros
If you are a self-starter and a hard worker, it is an opportunity to create a practice that you develop and create without having to do it all on your own. In previous jobs, no matter how hard I worked there was a ceiling to my income. In this role, if you choose to work hard, you are rewarded financially. The position also provides flexibility that is not frequently available to nurse practitioners. For the most part, you can work the hours of your choosing. A great opportunity to learn and be autonomous.
Kontras
The majority of patients are very ill. If you expect quick, simple visits this is not the right fit for you. You also become very close to families and often lose patients at the end of their life. This company is rapidly growing and changing. Procedures change quickly and sometimes it feels like once you have learned a procedure or protocol, it changes.
