Pros

Pay is ok and company could be ok but not worth it

Kontras

The product could be good, but it was very hard to do my job. QA was not treated like part of the team. People often acted like QA was a problem instead of help. Plans changed a lot, deadlines were too fast, and bugs were ignored until things broke. The hardest part was my boss. My boss was very strict and mean when talking to people. They talked in a harsh way and did not listen. Mistakes were blamed on people instead of being fixed together. This made me feel anxious and depressed at work. I live in Latvia, and that made things harder too. My work time was not respected. I was expected to be available very late, even when it was outside normal work hours. This job felt very stressful and not kind. If you like calm teamwork and being treated with respect, this may not be the right place for you.

Thank you for taking the time to write this and for raising these concerns. We recognize the experience you've described was challenging. We are a global company, and that does include navigating time zones, rapid changes, and a high bar for ownership. Every department at Levelpath is essential to how we build our product and support customers, and that absolutely includes QA. We are one team working toward shared goals, not isolated functions. Again, we appreciate your feedback, and we wish you well in what's next.

Pros

Truly exciting opportunity, very impressive product that is being developed with lightning speed. Experienced founders and a leadership team who have done this successfully before. High energy, fast-paced environment with smart, motivated people. Strong sense of ownership, people are genuinely invested in the company and their work.

Kontras

Long hours are the norm, especially in a high-growth phase. 100% in office requirement for SF employees, which may not suit everyone.

Pros

I found the bottom of my career

Kontras

If you’re considering Levelpath, understand that the culture is deeply dysfunctional and unsupportive. Communication is poor to the point of being obstructive, and collaboration is essentially nonexistent. You repeatedly hit a wall where no one is willing to help, share context, or work together. A large portion of the team is based in Latvia, while the U.S. presence feels largely cosmetic and a way for the company to claim it has engineering in San Francisco. That imbalance is not subtle in practice. Knowledge is tightly siloed, critical context is withheld, and there is a pervasive sense that others benefit when you struggle. The environment is competitive in a corrosive way, where people are incentivized to let you fail so they can look better by comparison. You leave feeling set up to struggle rather than set up to succeed. Management is overbearing and controlling, with little to no trust placed in engineers. Autonomy is effectively nonexistent. Decisions are top‑down, micromanaged, and often disconnected from reality on the ground. The planning process is chaotic and counterproductive, constantly manufacturing urgency and forcing you into artificial time crunches. The result is predictable stress, burnout, and worse outcomes. Not speed, not quality, and certainly not sustainability. Daily meetings are scheduled at 6am. If you value work life balance, have a family, or want a schedule compatible with having a life outside of work, this is not a family friendly environment. I strongly recommend that readers look closely at the dates of the glowing reviews. Many, if not all of the positive reviews, are clustered within the same week. That timing is not organic and does not reflect the day to day reality you experience here. You can draw your own conclusions.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that your experience at Levelpath didn’t meet your expectations. Levelpath is a globally distributed company, with teams across the U.S. and Europe. Working across time zones is a core part of how we operate, and at times that does mean early or late meetings. We try to be thoughtful about balancing global collaboration with sustainable schedules, and we understand that this setup isn’t the right fit for everyone. Autonomy is something we take seriously. Engineers are trusted to own their work, help shape technical direction, and make meaningful decisions. Like many fast-growing, early-stage startups, we pair that autonomy with high expectations, clear accountability, and a strong focus on execution and follow-through. The pace and ambiguity that come with operating in a competitive market can feel demanding, especially for those who prefer a more predictable structure. We value transparency and use feedback to continue improving through sharing honest feedback, either positive or negative. We appreciate you sharing your perspective and wish you the best in your next chapter. For candidates considering Levelpath, we encourage you to speak directly with team members during the interview process to get a clear sense of whether our culture, pace, and global structure align with what you’re looking for.
