Pros

The hive does do top quality work and the carbs are endless. Top brand clients. Seem to be swimming in revenue. Everybody seems nice at first.

Kontras

Its a hive. No personal space and no privacy. One big room with long banquet tables of evryone sitting cafeteria style. Seating assignments are literally moved weekly. No visual clue of hierchy. What would you move up to, another seat? Sweatshop with an audio track that never stops.

Thank you so much for taking time to provide feedback on your experiences at JKR. Great to know that you enjoyed working on our brands - we are lucky to have created some brilliant relationships and opportunities with our clients. As we grow, we have invited the team to give their thoughts on trying new working arrangements, in order to address the challenges in physical space and the expanding team. As a business, we also value working as a team and believe great work comes from working together, which has meant hierarchy can be less visible sometimes. That being said, we can appreciate the challenges of the changes, and are working on structure to cater to our growth. Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate your thoughts.

Pros

- One of the top design studios in NYC/Globally. - Work with major global brands. - Led by industry leading talent.

Kontras

- High turnover (likely because of intensive work hours and work dynamic) - Slow project dynamic (1 branding project could take years to be done) - Studio's emphasis is on creative department, not equally across other departments (account, Strat, etc)

Pros

- Exposure to Major Brands: You’ll get to work with some of the biggest brands in the industry—great for your portfolio and career growth. - Exceptionally Talented Team: Designers and creative specialists are top-notch. - Strong Industry Reputation: Lots of awards and industry notoriety—especially if you're on the right projects.

Kontras

- Poor Work-Life Balance: Expect long hours and little personal time. The culture subtly encourages work obsession, and burnout is real. - HR Prioritizes Optics: As other reviews have pointed out, the HR team often seems more focused on protecting the company's image than addressing employee concerns. - Cliquey Culture: The work environment can feel exclusive or political, especially if you’re not part of Design or the Account teams. - Lack of Process: Project Management is expected to drive the work, yet are often overlooked & undervalued. The lack of structure just compounds the chaos.
