Pros
-In my store specifically, I've met some great people on staff as well as frequent and new customers. -Management always tries to promote a sense of team unity as well as "pep-talk" the staff because the Johnny Rockets image is supposed to be wholesome and American. -Ability to request off is fairly easy, given you put in a note before hand. Most of the time management requires a server or cook to find another employee to "cover" their shift if one cannot work on short notice. -Working at Johnny Rockets has really boosted up my ability to talk to strangers and built up my communication skills. -If you're on a shift with people you like, time will fly by and you'll have fun .
Kontras
-Along with some really great customers comes triple fold the amount of horrible customers. It's one thing to understand that you are a "server" and that entails having to wait on people, sometimes hand and foot, but that should not be an excuse for rudeness and lack of empathy for someone who is busting their ass for $4.60 an hour just to refill your half empty glass of coke. -Management has their great points, but favoritism is present. Kiss asses to the managers, best friends of the managers and friends of the managers will always get the best treatment while everyone falls to the waist-side doing the work that the managers are supposed to be taking care of. -One thing that pissed me off while I worked there was the fact that the managers could eat food in front of customers and all throughout the restaurant but dare say a server or cook take the slightest nibble of a french fry and they'd get written up. Working at a restaurant does not allow for the servers to have breaks, and if breaks are given (usually during a double shift), they are only for about 15 minutes. -Tips were only worth it about 20% of the time. -Being a cook as well, I've noticed that some cooks WILL PICK UP FOOD FROM THE FLOOR, DUST IT OFF AND PROCEED TO PLACE IT ON A PLATE. I've told management about this. And to no avail. -Overall, the management does not care about it's servers and cooks. Their one and only goal is to keep the business running, despite whatever circumstances one might be facing.
