The people are talented, productive, and friendly. Great direct management of A&E staff by competent and knowledgeable discipline directors. Good working relationships & good people was primary motivation for a long period at Jacobs. Good compensation.

Upper management is completely disconnected from the work being done, and ignore direct input through various means (HR complaints of problem people, direct communication with supervisors, as well as fancy surveys & road shows). Work is often divided into sandboxes which creates tensions and competition between departments. Work pipeline is completely inconsistent which creates a extreme peaks and valleys. In recent years work pipeline has slowed to a degree that morale is low and lay offs always seem imminent.
