Pros

Great brand, good product. Internal mobility if you're bought into the vision and consistently exceed expectations (and also hybrid/office worker). High bar for performance and quality. Little to no tolerance for anything less. Comp is good / on par with the industry. Benefits on par, but less impressive. There remain some great people who care a lot about the product. Beautiful office space with all the perks.

Kontras

Toxic work culture: micro-management, low psychological safety, high pressure to deliver regardless of the hours required. Customer retention over Employee retention: SME loss. Quality issues abound. False narrative's being spun on profit loss via high value customer churn. Onsite expectations: Mandatory hybrid schedule, although flexible as long as you check the box. No more remote hires. No internal mobility if you're a legacy remote worker. TL;DR - Intuit is treating Mailchimp as a turnaround business and bifurcating itself to do so. If you're not wholly bought into the transformation, this is not the place for you.

Pros

Decent pay, great brand name, and great people. While leadership could be a mess, engineering, product, and design teams were full of smart and kind people who cared about each other's growth and their customers.

Kontras

The company felt a little directionless at times, with leadership constantly making pivots to roadmaps in desperate and quick attempts to make Mailchimp more profitable and competitive. These half-baked attempts at fixing things lead to unnecessary reorgs, long nights and weekends worked, fruitless features, and ultimately mass layoffs as Mailchimp was pulled out of a growth phase and is now seemingly in survival mode.
