Pros
Remote work. That’s about it anymore.
Kontras
I am a tax expert. I don’t know how to fix computers or their software. Nor do I care to learn. My job was hard enough without having to constantly do product support. Calls would be escalated through two or three other people then if the customer just breathed the word tax, they were escalated to us and we were not allowed to transfer calls so the unfortunate customer would end up with a tax expert trying to help their technical issues. I would end up working for hours trying to help people get past some kind of problem that they had usually created for themselves in the program. Intuit‘s equipment did not work properly this year. Every single day there were technology issues out of our control. I worked for them a few years ago and enjoyed it. Everything has changed. They even pay less than that used to. They lie to you about what your minimum schedule is. I really only wanted to work 20 hours a week, but was pushed into 35 by the manager. I wanted to do this job so I could help more people than I could help by working in a local type office. Due to all the technical problems, I was lucky if I talked to six or eight people all day. How could it be that we got through 2020 smoothly, but 2023 was a nightmare? I wasted hours, studying tax information that I never used.
