Kontras
This industry and company demand very thick skin. The work culture openly embraces the use of profanity, and the owner has made highly inappropriate and derogatory remarks about his company's customers. I have heard him call his customers (C*Ck $uC**rs). From my perspective as an employee, Inter-co operates in an unethical and underhanded manner, often treating its GC's unfairly. (This comes from an employee directly) Job security is virtually non-existent, as the owner thrives on maintaining control over the companies employees’ lives. There is no structured training team, process, or onboarding program, and colleagues are typically too overwhelmed to offer support. Without prior experience, an HR personnel who is very biased, no upper management support, coupled with being shamed for your novice, this environment is daunting. The company does not provide a stipend, and benefits are terminated immediately upon dismissal. The starting salary is very low. I later discovered I was among the lowest-paid employees as a result. If you are considering joining Inter-co, be sure to negotiate your salary—and be prepared for an awful and degrading experience during your time there.
