Pros
The only reason I have continued to work at Fairfax is because my colleagues are great people.
Kontras
Poor organizational structure. Definitely a bureaucratic institution specifically with their Bed Management/Operations Center, a unit where beds are assigned in an inefficient process and patient's suffer needlessly because of ineptitude. It worked more efficienctly when bed assignments were made with the unit charge nurse. This organization re-structures every 2-3 years only to cause upheaval and to thin management. However, upper management and C levels continue to increase positions. Upper management continues to focus on short-term financial goals and not the long-term. This makes for a hostile environment and one where problems are not addressed based upon what will work over an extended period. Treats staff poorly. If someone disagrees with a manager/physician regarding an issue, the person who complained is treated poorly. The organization routinely aligns with physicians regardless of the safety issue.
