Pros

Received freedom to proactively run with projects. Gained valuable experience and knowledge in marketing that lasted over a decade. Received responsibility to make decisions up to $500 without requiring permission. Continued mentorship from the founder after leaving the company. Work opportunities via contract well after I left the company the first time. The company rewards people who deliver with open arms for future work. Compared to most companies in Japan I earned about 50% more out of college. Every skill I gained at this company transferred to billion-dollar companies and my own consulting that's made me six figures a year at times. This company rewards people enthusiastic about working.

Kontras

It was always difficult to understand next steps in my career but that's largely on the individual. As a first job it was hard to navigate the value add I could deliver due to my lack of experience. Not for people looking to be given work to do. You must be proactive. You do need to seek mentors outside work but I find that even at big tech companies too.

Pros

Casual atmosphere - jeans, sneakers, t-shirts all ok. Prime location, right on top of Penn Station, so very easy to get to. Somewhat Flexible - Take 30 minute lunches and leave 30 minutes early.

Kontras

- Not very receptive to feedback - A lot of people have great ideas, but none really get listened to. - Atmosphere is thick. Boss is only in once a week, but when he's in, it gets silent because he doesn't like chatter. When he's not in, it's better, but still not the most conducive to creativity. - Feels like we're puppets. Just wait for word from the management, and then get started on working. - No one is really friends with each other. Just come into the office, and say goodbye. - Don't feel very appreciated - I did something that was not asked of me, and opened up a new channel of revenue. But I got no recognition for that, nor even a thank you..
