Pros

Pay is marginally better compared to other DoD contractors in the area Personnel Managers tend to be involved and work directly with the engineers they are managing/leading Plenty of opportunity to shift and learn different skills and be involved with different projects

Kontras

Company is growing but seems to be struggling with handling growth Some missteps at higher levels created additional struggles for several teams earlier this year Several long-time engineers/employees have left the company, leaving behind voids that are harder to fill. Its great to hire new engineers but losing top-talent really hurts teams

Pros

The company does flexibility very well. Work-life balance is genuinely respected, and schedules are generally accommodating. This can be a solid environment for those who value autonomy and stability. Many coworkers are capable and professional, and the work itself can be engaging depending on the program and leadership.

Kontras

Career growth can be challenging. Promotions often feel inconsistent and are not always clearly tied to performance, which can create perceptions of favoritism. Role expectations are sometimes unclear, with titles not always aligning with actual responsibilities. Recognition for high-impact or extra work is limited, which can lead to long-term stagnation. There also appears to be a growing disconnect between leadership and the day-to-day work being done by employees. Recent internal guidance and employee-facing documentation feel out of touch with how teams actually operate, suggesting these materials were created without sufficient input from the people doing the work. Advice to Management Increase transparency around promotion criteria and career progression. Involve frontline engineers and staff when developing employee guidance and policies, and ensure those materials reflect the realities of the work. Clearer role definitions and more consistent recognition would improve retention and morale.
