Pros

If you're in Consulting it is a bit alright as you might get to travel a fair bit within the US and Europe. Possible even India. If you're working in India, the company has sprawling campuses for employees to work in. The campuses have a wide range of facilities from gyms to squash courts and even a cricket pitch in some places.

Kontras

When you join as a software engineer you are worked way too hard and not paid any overtime benefits either. On the other hand you could be placed on 'bench' i.e a reserve resource for the company and do nothing with your time. This can get very frustrating as i have personally been on bench for a while and trying to get my managers to give me some work to do but in vain. Now i understand that some people might be thinking this would be the ideal job of getting paid and not doing much work but trust me, you dont want to be sitting out there at the start of your career and wasting time away waiting to be given work!

Safe and inclusive workplace – Strong focus on ethics, compliance, and diversity.

Kontras

Salary growth can be slow – Compensation increments may be lower compared to market standards. Limited flexibility in role changes – Internal mobility and project switches can take time. Bureaucratic processes – Decision-making can be slow due to multiple approval layers. Project allocation delays – Bench time and delayed onboarding to projects can happen. Variable learning exposure – Skill growth depends heavily on the project assigned. Less innovation in some teams – Certain projects may use legacy technologies. Onsite opportunities are limited – Compared to earlier years, onsite roles are fewer. Performance appraisal transparency – Rating systems may feel rigid or unclear.
