Pros
I started working for IncomeStore in 2014. They hired me for a remote Copywriter position. Pay was very good for my age and experience. After a few years I started focusing on content for the link-building team, became a content specialist, and ultimately project manager. They really love to promote from inside the company. Trust plays a huge rule in advancement and it’s easier to climb up the ladder here than in other companies. I am thankful for the opportunity that was given to me, but I think they should have sent me to some sort of Project management courses, especially since I don’t have the academic background. I struggled a lot to be a decent manager for my team, set realistic deadlines, empathize with other people, and evaluate objectively. In the end, I came to the conclusion that management really isn’t for me and moved on to an editor position in another agency. Overall, management was very supportive of me, but I think they didn’t know how to help me improve either. Many times, I would end up micro-managing, or doing the actual work -overtime-, because I couldn’t trust my team-members during a crisis.
Kontras
Lack of direction for managers and unrealistic deadlines.
