Pros

The employees for the most part are good people and want to do a good job supporting their customers. The software they sell and support is really good.

Kontras

I should, in full disclosure say that they eliminated my position and let me go (they did not hire anyone to replace me. They divided my duties among the others that stayed with them. This came;; within 6 months of this company telling us that they wanted us to do the things we have been doing and they were not going to reduce the workforce moving forward. They ended up laying off somewhere between 10 and 20% of the company. The company that owns it now (Constellation Software) has changed the basic philosophy from "do whatever we can to assist the customer even if it means we make a little less money" to "Make as much money as possible, no matter what it takes. People don't mean anything, just make more money." I used to be proud to work there, even at a lower pay rate than would be expected for the position I had and with my education. Now, I'm actually glad they let me go.

Pros

Fast-paced, lots of innovation, really fun and laid-back team, profitable with good bonuses

Kontras

Conservative company that is not fast to invest huge amounts of money. The upside is that there aren't lots of bets into wasteful projects, and layoffs are extremely rare.

Pros

Great product, great customers, and great people in the CR office. There's also a nice work/life balance.

Kontras

Unpredictable offsite corporate management that doesn't mesh well with midwestern values. Because of this, employees worry about job security because there have been a couple of occasions where there has been a reduction in force with no warning leaving those still employed taking on a greater work load and those who got cut wondering why? We've lost great employees and it's greatly impacted what used to be a wonderful, collaborative place to work. People used to be valued as individuals and now they are just numbers and there's no telling when your number may be up.
