*Have personally seen few opportunities for promotion *Male-dominated upper management *Performance evaluations are flawed; they use "forced ranking" to stay within budget. If you don't know forced ranking: Typically, the top 20% of employees are rated "A", middle 70% are "B" and bottom 10% are "C", regardless of the quality of individual performance. Using forced ranking: If one were to rank all living Nobel laureates, 10% of them would be "C" - they'd be given no raise or promotion and might even be encouraged to look for another job. This is a highly demotivating system and the reason I'm moving on.
