Sharing my honest feedback. In the initial days , a mentor would be assigned. The mentor or the buddy was never friendly. Everyone who had a buddy would introduce that person to the entire team. But my buddy never did that. Leave that, Not worried because of it. But the buddy or the so called Mentor assigned me tough tasks and used to review the code and point out small and un necessary mistakes. As I was not using 'Django' , how HackerEarth used to, I was making mistakes. Agree that I made some mistakes and used to correct it. But the buddy used to review only my code and point out the mistakes and made big issue out of it. He even reported the same to his higher officials and made me put into PIP(Performance Improvement Plan). If the buddy reviews others code, the situation would be the same, because not everyone are so genious or Django perfectionists. Later all my Managers were of the opinion that I dont know anything. But Dear Managers, How did you come to a conclusion by just one person's review? I used to work really hard. But as said, First Impression is the best impression, everyone were of the opinion that I am little slow. - No one used to include me for their Coffee breaks or lunch - No one used to talk to me or help me out. - There is one big gang and they think HackerEarth is the best place on the earth. (Guys you have worked only in a single company. Please work in 4 different companies and judge) Teams shuffled in span of time. Even after knowing that I am not a good performer, I was put into the same team where my buddy was there and this time the work was also challenging. Dear Managers, how can you put a person to a challenging team, even after knowing that he does not perform well. After a month, they told me that I am not fit for the team at HackerEarth and told me to quit Dear respected HRs & Managers, If I was not fit for the team, then how did you hire me?? Doesn't it depict poor hiring at HAckerEarth.?? And remember one thing, do not go by the review of one favourite person of yours. Also dont force a person to participate in Hackathons, if she in not interested or if she is put into PIP. Instead of putting into PIP, please inform the candidate to quit so that she does not waste her career in HackerEarth. Also wanted to know on what basis you hired me? Also please tell my mentor to review the entire codebase of HAckerEarth Recruit so that everyone can sit for months and refactor it. The tasks which I implemented successfully was never being used/utilized. I used to face so much of torture everyday. If you didnt have a plan, you could have informed me well in advance. I would have quit.
