Pros

coworkers (who stay on longer) are a great source of support and clinical insight

Kontras

Management treats you like you have either seriously screwed up or you are about to screw up. There is no flexibility, incredibly poor work/life balance, salary is a joke (barely got a cost of living adjustment when I got licensed), and they reward effective workers with more work.

Pros

If you are interested in forensic work, I recommend working here. I looked all over San Diego County and found Hope offers the most diverse work. There are lots of training opportunities and the company provides CEUs, which I like. I also feel supported by my supervisor and team. The company also offers pretty good incentives.

Kontras

Adjusting to the four 10-hour workdays took some adjusting to. A three-day weekend is a perk, but you may find yourself contemplating a five-day work week, which the company does offer, so not a con but something to consider before taking the job.

Pros

- Mission-driven work that genuinely impacts the community - Opportunities to take initiative and build internal systems - Some genuinely wonderful coworkers who are very passionate about this field and the population

Kontras

- Pay is significantly below market (for operations and clinical), especially considering the large caseloads and client population (high-risk recidivism) - Role responsibilities (for operations mainly) often expand beyond the job description with no compensation or title adjustment - Lack of formal systems or organization to support staff efficiency or retention (both in operations and clinical) - So understaffed to the point where I was afraid our office locations would have to close because there was 2 clinicians (1 per office) seeing 200+ clients a month each - Management tends to rely on over-performers without providing long-term support or real recognition (aka: here's a $2 plastic water bottle and meme gif saying "idk what we'd do without you! :D") - Burnout is very high across the company and the environment is hectic and at times unsafe
