Pros
The cafeteria and the fact that I don't work there anymore are the best thing about this company. Worst sales job in the universe.
Kontras
Unfortunately Glassdoor makes you give a minimum of 1 star. Avoid sales positions there. At first glance it seemed like a good place, nice building and clean environment. The problem lies in their computer system, management, benefits, sick/vacation time, and general bad attitude from some other departments that you need to work with to do your job. The hoops that you jump through to make money there are absurd, and I don't mean the customers. For one, their computer system is convoluted (understatement) and the other departments like dispatch and service could care less about the customers. I kept all my old sales numbers and calculated that each month AT LEAST 25% of my scheduled installations didn't get installed because our installers just didn't show up to do the job. Best part: the sales people would get blamed for this. Also, you would loose the commission from this kind of incident. There was absolutely no interdepartmental teamwork or cooperation and it made the job Hell. Sick/vacation time: If you have children this isn't the place for you. As I mentioned, other departments can choose to not show up without even calling but in their sales department you get written up-even with a note from a doctor. For example, a flu ran through my household causing my toddlers to have to go to the hospital with a triple digit temperature. This spread to my wife and me; an ordeal that involved 5 days off and 3 notes from 2 different doctors advising not to return to work (3 lost due to sick kids, 2 for me). For this, I was written up. In the last 10 years I've been sick twice, unfortunately for me one of those times was when I worked at guardian. It gets worse. Not all but a few members of management are negative and unprofessional in a way I have never seen before. I personally witnessed group emails where an employee(s) were called out by name and humiliated for minor errors. There is notoriously bad turnover there. The only veterans worked at guardian before a lot of these new policies and bad workers were there. However, even they disliked the place. When I asked a few of them why they stayed they all replied the same, "it's all they knew" or "it was comfortable because it was familiar and they did it for so long". Other than this select group I watched worker after worker come and go die to the BS involved. Basically, if you want sales avoid this hell hole. Everyday I wake up and am happy at my new job because I remember my year at guardian. Do yourself a favor, choose a position in the mailroom or installation department before doing sales here. You'll be happy you dodged that bullet. Hope this helped!
