Pros

Basically nothing. There were some very good, kind and genuine people in my Zoom tracking class. But my time was short, as I was let go after not passing my licensing exam on the first try.

Pretty ironic and telling that after I had been dealing with a personal health issue, a company with “Health” in the title wouldn’t be even try to be understanding with and would offer a second chance to retake my exam. Heads Up: if you fail your licensing exam by more than 10 points, you will be fired. In training, it is never once explicitly stated that you only get one chance to pass and you will be terminated and there is nothing you can do. I couldn’t have felt more disposable of an employee than I did in that moment. What else? The base pay is honestly laughable. I made more during my first entry level position post college over 5 years ago. Even though I was only in the office for one day, the coworkers I met an interacted with were all miserable, Pretty unimpressive and less than stellar health plan choices. You have 2 options. If you think by working for an insurance company that you’re also going to have a great insurance, you are sadly mistaken. Just endless asinine technological problems. Complete lack of any and all transparency in anything that’s actually being discussed among top leadership

All sales agents are informed about the pay, licensing, and testing expectations with the company upon being hired. Agents are informed during training if they are eligible to retake their licensing exam based on their performance during that time. Thank you for your feedback and best of luck with your next role.

Pros

When I joined, we were a young, resilient, determined group of very smart individuals. The scale we were operating on made it very easy to feel as if there was some tangible impact. As people were let go or moved to other companies, it opened up a lot of opportunities for people in the early-mid portion of careers.

Kontras

The business model was so clearly designed around things entirely out of our control, so when Carriers decide they don’t us to be allowed to sell their products for them we aren’t really able to do much to offset that loss. Every attempted pivot to diversify income streams demonstrated that this system wasn’t going to work for us without an administration that encouraged health insurance carriers to invest in expansion. Constantly changing priorities, no gaps in between mission critical objectives, we were almost always on fire and being asked just to hold on and bear with management.
