Pros

There are some good front line employees doing their best under extremely constrained circumstances.

In our group, there is no real leadership (vision and inspiration) only management (command and control). The culture is basically do as you are told. Suggestions and recommendations by employees and even results of engagement surveys seem to be ignored. Employees are disengaged and focused solely on their salary and looking forward to the weekends (even though some managers still send all night/all weekend emails). Most individuals do nothing extra outside of their job specifications. The workload is unfeasible, Team spirit and morale is extremely low. Many individuals want to leave but because of age, location, fear, etc remain. No matter how great a company’s products and/or services may be, if management is dysfunctional, that company will have serious problems. Our 'bad boss' spends their time directing and monitoring employees rather than empowering them. Micromanaging is oppressive, fosters anxiety and creates a high stress work environment. Eventually, employees will become disenchanted and quit to work for another company (a pattern that has been happening).

Pros

Good stepping stone if you really need a job. People there seem to be genuine and form long-term professional relationships.

Kontras

HR is a bit antiquated. Not sure if they still practice the "You get 10 PTO days, 4 of which we will dictate that you must use at the end of December" rule. So, in reality, you get 6 PTO days, but they want you to think you have 10. Seems very deceptive.
