Pros
I've worked here for a few months now (and in life sciences for a long time) and I've been pleasantly impressed. Compared to many large US corporations they are very fast moving in terms of executing ideas, products and pivoting strategy. Compared to many EU corporations they are flexible, the culture is much more driven towards hard work and success and we're missing all those layers of bureaucracy that poor performers and middling managers often hide behind. I've never worked for any company where everyone is so very polite, helpful and so direct at the same time and I can see why some people would struggle with such a culture. If you're prepared to work hard and execute your ideas, you often have the freedom to do so here. I'm not a Mandarin speaker, but I've had no issues with the onboarding process (other than usual IT ones and they were super happy to help, in fact I do need to mention just how incredibly helpful their IT is consistently!)
Kontras
That level of directness will be difficult for many people, you are expected to execute, take responsibility and show results. If you do not, the fast moving organization will also move fast to remove you. I feel some people will struggle with such pressure and others will thrive on it. However, if you're someone who wants to get things done and is happy to be challenged, you'll get on well here.
Pros
Good diversity, ability to move up, jam-packed training/on-boarding process, happy and helpful coworkers.
Kontras
Sometimes they can be slightly unorganized, but it’s minimally impactful to me.
Pros
I feel very fortunate to have joined GenScript. Over the past 20 years, I have not worked at many companies—this is only my eighth—but it is truly the best position I have had in my career so far. The working environment is relaxed and supportive, my colleagues are friendly and collaborative, and my manager is genuinely caring and attentive to the team. What makes GenScript especially outstanding is its strong culture of innovation, integrity, and commitment to excellence. The company not only delivers high-quality products and services, but also invests in its people, encouraging professional growth and recognizing individual contributions. There is a clear sense of purpose in the work we do, and it is motivating to be part of an organization that strives to make a meaningful impact in the industry. While I cannot speak for everyone’s experience, I can say that I am truly happy working here and feel proud to be part of such a great company.
Kontras
Like any growing company, there are still areas for improvement. Communication across teams and regions could sometimes be more streamlined, and processes may not always be fully standardized, which can occasionally lead to inefficiencies. In addition, as the company continues to expand rapidly, workload and priorities can shift quickly, requiring employees to stay flexible and adapt to changes. There may also be opportunities to further enhance career development pathways and internal communication to support long-term growth. Overall, these are common challenges in a fast-growing organization, and there is clear effort from leadership to continuously improve.
