Lots of on-the-job training, in a didactic and clinical setting. Continual educations required and optional workshops, conferences encouraged. Yearly raises, accomodative of health limitations.
Kontras
Challenges with scheduling preferences - there are ultimately very little. Seniority in the nursing staff plays a huge role. Raises can be quite small. No "consistent, set" shifts on inpatient units.
